The Peacekeepers
Farscape
Good or Bad?
The Peacekeepers are one of my favourite races from all the great
imaginings we have been brought, They are basically just really advanced
humans with slight differences to their DNA and a whole load more technology
and as you would expect a long battle ridden history.

They are portrayed as extremely loyal if a little overly self
motivated at times but this just brings them to life through the Farscape
series, The deceit, the lies it all makes them so much more interesting to
watch and see where all the planning and scheming is going to take them.
A true pleasure to watch as well fantastic battle scenes and a
really fierce attitude on the battlefield, the ships the Peacekeepers bring to
bear are some of the most fantastic around.

The sheer scale of the ships and the massive amount of power
behind the Peacekeeper war machine takes them right up there with the best of
them, not to mention the not so subtle undertone to their flag closely
resembling earths soviet powerhouse of old.
It
is also very eerie to me that a lot of the Peacekeepers are actually born and
raised on the massive vessels they roam the stars in, slight touches of Bourne
identity here but you get the idea, bred for and fiercely loyal.
This
really does come out in the story and is portrayed well giving them that edge
that got them selected for the topic, what can I say it's quite fun to image
how we might be after so long as struggle would we be so different.
What I quite liked was the attempt at a diverse culture but not quite so, the Peacekeepers were made up mostly of Sebaceans (Human's) and a small mix of others, this gave them a nice opening to bring in a character to which I still can't decide if I love him or hate him, Scorpius.
Scorpius
was a commander in the Peacekeeper fleet and also a half breed giving him some
unique aspects, you can almost always feel that knife about to slip into someone's
back when you are watching the Peacekeepers they will salute you when you win
and take your crown the minute you fall over.

Technology
was on their side as well an assortment of advanced weapons and ships which we
had the pleasure of seeing commute to dust oh so many times, I said they were
fierce but storm troopers have about the same accuracy when shooting so good
times and troubled waters.
Overall
they are a great creation and a wonderful addition to our imagination.
